What is Candida Yeast?

Candida yeast is a fungus about 50 micrometers. It is a common fungus and is usually harmless to the host body.  Their levels are controlled by the immune system and probiotic bacteria.  They grow in a host body including human beings and rely on the food that host body takes.

As living beings settle where there are facilities of basic needs like shelter, water, and food. This yeast mainly grows in the intestinal tract. However, they are present in the mucous membrane of mouth, intestinal tract, and vagina in harmless state. They mainly grow on intestine because it is easy for them to absorb nutrients and multiply. The growth of this yeast is disrupted if there is a decrease in level of probiotic bacteria. The bacteria levels are decreased if they are killed by antibiotics or if a host body has a weak immune system. Also, intake of more sugar in the diet can multiply the yeast.

If there is an increase in the level of yeast in host body then it causes infection in the host body. There are mainly four areas where the Candida yeast infection can occur. Firstly, they occur in genitals causing genital yeast infections. In this infection people suffer from irritation and burning sensation. This infection mainly occurs in women during pregnancy. The second location is in the skin where there is more moist especially in between toes, fingers, and around the anus. When people frequently expose his hand to the water then it results in pus secretion from the nail beds and nails turn yellow. A third location is in mouth and throat. It is also known as oral candidiasis or oral thrush in which white patches appear in the inner cheek, tongue, and lips. Lastly, the digestive tract is another place where it is multiplied.

For the treatment of infection in digestive tract amphotericin B should be taken for two weeks. Similarly for genital and skin infections many drugs are available that will soothe the pain and constant itching. Also, to treat the infection naturally or to keep Candida yeast in balance you should take healthy diet in which intake of sugar in food should be low. Also, you should avoid the food in which yeast is mixed like curd, bread, alcohol, and mushrooms. Thus, it is in your hand to balance the yeast amount in your body and get prevent from the infection in the future.
